Subject: enough is enough
Hi Michael,
My name is Melissa. I had just started working in a law firm for my externship at school when the lawyer I worked for started to take advantage of the fact that I was just a girl -- a piece of meat -- and had me doing stuff that was not work at all. I was his maid or at least he thought. He is also this big Republican and likes to bring up every reason why Pittsburgh should be Republican. The funny part is Pittsburgh is like 85% Democrat. So I put up with this for 8 weeks, and I have no clue why. So today after reading your e-mail, I realized (even though I should have done it a long time ago, but intimidation can be a factor for me sometimes) that I went to school to be a paralegal and not someone's little person they can snap snap to and I will jump up. And today I told him that, and I know it is not as big as other situtations. But I am tired of people taking advantage of other people, just treating them like they're nothing. And I was letting someone do that to me. It was finally time to put a stop to it.
