Activists planning Democracy event

Port Huron Times Herald

PORT HURON TWP. - Blue November, a group of local activists who oppose the war in Iraq, will have a Democracy Fair from 2 to 5 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Blue Water Labor Temple, 2441 W. Water St., Port Huron Township. The event will feature presentations by talk-radio host Peter Werbe of the show Nightcallon WRIF-FM 101.1; Adrian Campbell, a Waterford Township resident who lost her job at Meijer in Northville after appearing in Michael Moore's health-care documentary Sicko; and Lila Lipscomb of Flint, whose trip to the White House after losing her son in Iraq was documented in Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11. Local folk music duo Still Running also will perform. Those who attend are asked to bring an item to contribute to care packages for troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
