The Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa chapter of Young Democrats of America is sponsoring a screening of the 2007 documentary “Sicko,” about the American health care industry, Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m. in the Walcher Conference Center in the Student Union. This screening is free and open to the public.
“Sicko” is directed and narrated by controversial film-maker Michael Moore.
After the film, viewers will be encouraged to offer comments and critiques of the movie and to tell their own stories of health care in the U.S.
Reggie Cervantes, a 9-11 emergency responder who is prominently featured in “Sicko,” currently lives in Yukon and has been invited to attend, said Stinson.
Refreshments will be available before, during, and after the movie. The film is rated PG-13.
