Jackson Browne coming to Freedom Plaza

Time to target Washington D.C.

Yesterday, my first day back at Freedom Plaza with my daughter and grandsons in tow, I got a call from one of my oldest and dearest friends, Jackson Browne. I stepped away from the braided chains of plastic bags where occupiers and passers by were helping to complete my daughter's post-consumer plastic Peace Tree, to talk to Jackson. Jackson and I go back (this is hard for even me to believe) more than 40 years, and we've been through a lot over those years. We've both always been soldiers for the cause. We both have a habit of taking in the disenfranchised, picking up the pieces of other people's lives and messes and taking on seemingly impossible causes. Jackson has always been there for my daughter and me. I stand in awe of this man who has done so much for so many. I hope that now and then I've been there to listen, offer a word or two of comfort or encouragement. But, I honestly do not know anyone more generous, sincere and loving than my friend, Jackson.

Since I've been occupying at Occupy Washington DC, we've stayed in close touch. He sent us three bicycle generators when I asked, and I'd just given him a request for more "stuff" we need. But this call was about his plan to come to visit us in Washington D.C. He was just at Zuccotti Park and he's part of putting together an album with a lot of other musicians called "Occupy This Album". In fact, Michael Moore is part of the album effort.

So, here's the scoop! Jackson Browne will be visiting and playing at Freedom Plaza in Washington DC tomorrow... Probably around 3 or 4 p.m. Hope you can be there.
