(RTTNews) - Britain lost two more of its troops who fought militants in Afghanistan.
One soldier was killed in a roadside bomb blast near Garmsir in Helmand Province Thursday, the British Defense Ministry said in a statement. The second casualty was the result of injuries the Royal Marine sustained last week in a roadside blast near Lashkar Gah, also in Helmand Province. The Briton, who was flown home for treatment, died in a hospital in Birmingham Wednesday night, the statement added.
Both of them were part of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) deployed in southern Afghanistan.
With this, the number of British troops killed in combat in Afghanistan since the start of operations in 2001 rose to 163.
