A Soldier from Walker, Minnesota has died in the line of Duty.
The Minnesota Guard says Specialist George W. Cauley was hit by an IED in the Helmand province of Afghanistan on October 7th.
The soldier assigned to the 114th Truck company passed away as a result of his injuries on October 10th.
The 114th Truck Company has approximately 170 deployed soldiers that mobilized on 17 June for a one year deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
The unit underwent pre-mobilization training at Camp Atterbury, Indiana and further deployed to Afghanistan.
The 114th Truck Company is among the 2260 deployed soldiers of the MN Guard at this time.
